Rich Mountain Distilling Corn Seed

Developed for optimal performance from field to bottle, Rich Mountain Distilling Corn is being released as seed for the first time ever.
This corn possesses a unique flavor, all while having an outstanding soft starch content resulting in excellent yield. Rich Mountain Distilling Corn can reach heights of ten to fourteen feet depending on growing conditions and is more resistant to green snap than many other open pollinated corn varieties. This makes for a relatively easy to grow corn that still clings to the tradition and flavor sought after in the distilling industry. Producing a suitable yield with orange/burgundy kernels with an occasional off color white/yellow.
*As a way of welcoming you into our "growers" family, C & H is setting aside November 23rd to shell and mill any Rich Mountain Corn purchased from North Georgia Still Company at our Castlewood VA location.*

Growing Tips: Soil temperature at the time of planting is critical to the success of any open-pollinated corn variety. Ensure you have reached a soil temperature of 65 degrees prior to planting. Due to open-pollinated corn pollination requiring wind, plant corn in blocks as opposed to long rows. An example would be to plant 12, 25 plant rows as opposed to 2, 150 plant rows. This technique ensures an adequate amount of pollen is distributed to each plant resulting in full ears.
