Rahr White Wheat

Rahr White Wheat is a pale wheat malt made from North American soft winter white wheat. It is a pale malt with a sweet, malty flavor and subtle fruitiness, often used in wheat beers and can add smoothness and subtle flavors to whiskey, particularly wheated bourbons.  White wheat is easier to mill than red wheat. Adding wheat to whiskey, particularly in wheated bourbons, is becoming more common and can impart a smoother, sweeter flavor profile compared to rye-based bourbons. Wheat in whiskey can contribute flavors of vanilla, honey, caramel, toasted oak, toffee, and even vanilla ice cream or bananas foster.
